❓ Light & Vibrance Tool (FAQ)

This tool applies brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, and gamma adjustments to a single image directly in your browser. Your image is not uploaded to any server; everything happens on your device. You can export in the same format you uploaded (JPG/PNG/WebP/BMP).

Where does the processing happen? Is there any server upload?

All editing happens inside your browser. Your image is not sent to a server and is not stored. Performance depends on your device and the image resolution.

Which formats are supported, and why only these 4?

This tool supports the most stable browser formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP. Formats like AVIF/TIFF/PSD are not guaranteed across all browsers/devices and are better handled on PRO/server side.

What do Brightness / Contrast / Saturation change?

Brightness shifts overall lightness. Contrast increases/decreases the difference between dark and light areas. Saturation controls color intensity. Since they interact, small steps usually produce the best results.

What is the difference between Exposure and Brightness?

Exposure is closer to a photo ‘stop’ adjustment and affects the tonal distribution differently, while Brightness is more like a general lightness shift. Exposure often feels more photographic for overall light changes.

What does Gamma do? When should I use it?

Gamma mainly affects midtones. It helps you balance the image without crushing shadows or blowing highlights. It’s great for fine-tuning after basic adjustments.

How does Before/After comparison work?

The Before/After button quickly toggles between the original image and your edited result, making it easy to visually compare changes.

What does Undo/Redo revert? How is it different from Restore Original?

Undo/Redo steps through your adjustment history (settings states). “Restore Original” resets everything and returns to the original image as the base, letting you start over.

Why does export keep the same format? When does the quality control appear?

This tool exports in the same format you uploaded. The quality slider is mainly relevant for lossy formats (e.g., JPG/WebP). For lossless formats like PNG/BMP, quality may not apply or may behave differently.

Why can the file size increase after export?

Because the image is re-encoded in the browser, compression results can vary. Lossless formats like PNG may increase in size depending on content. For JPG/WebP, quality settings more directly impact file size.

Any practical tips for best results?

Start with small Brightness/Exposure tweaks, then refine Contrast, and finish with Saturation and Gamma. Avoid extreme values and use Before/After to keep results natural.

Tip: For photo-like images, small adjustments usually look more natural. Extreme values may cause banding, clipping, or detail loss.

Light & Vibrance: Bring Flat Photos to Life Without Overdoing It

1) Why do images look flat?

Flat images usually come from low contrast, wrong exposure, or weak lighting. Phone cameras sometimes lift shadows but “wash out” colors. The result: everything is fine but looks lifeless. With light and vibrance adjustments, you can bring that life back and make the image more attractive.

2) “Light” and “vibrance” are not the same

Light/exposure affects overall brightness and midtones. Vibrance increases color intensity in a smarter way. Saturation pushes all colors equally, while vibrance often boosts weaker colors more and protects already-strong tones. That’s why vibrance usually looks more natural.

3) The biggest mistake: pushing saturation first

Many people try to fix flat photos by blasting saturation. This often breaks reds/oranges (skin, food) and looks amateur. The correct order is:

  • First fix light/contrast balance
  • Then use vibrance
  • Finally, a tiny saturation boost only if necessary

4) Critical points for product photos

In product visuals, the goal is “accurate but appealing.” Too much vibrance may change product color and can even affect return rates. Make sure:

  • White backgrounds don’t clip (no detail loss)
  • Product texture remains visible
  • If skin exists, it shouldn’t turn too orange

5) Social media and ad creatives

More vivid visuals often grab attention on social media. But too much vibrance creates a screaming look and can damage brand perception. For a premium feel, controlled vibrance + clean tones is better.
